Recently the NSPCC held a charity auction, offering the chance to build your very own Bill Amberg bag. The winner (Isabelle) came into our onsite workshop, and worked with Bill and one of our master leather craftsmen, to make a bag from scratch starting with choosing the design then selecting the leather and colours. Finally she added her own personal touches and accessories, including an embossing of her grandfather’s crest.

Bill Amberg goes BARKING MAD!!!

We marked the release of our new products from the “Build a…” concept where we worked with the Searcy of London Club to develop colourful dog accessories made from bridle leather, cast buckles and bungee elastic cord which could be embossed or customised for that added personal touch. The products went down a storm well alongside the champagne, with dog bowls and snacks provided by the Royal Canin. Thankfully there weren’t too many little accidents…

Build a Bag: make a bespoke leather bag in three hours

We invited seven journalists to our workshops to create a bespoke bag in just three hours. The full team of craftsmen and designers were involved, firstly helping to put the components together then in its construction. This was a great opportunity for me to share in the processes behind crafting unique designs and by inviting these key titles to build their very own unique version of the classic Bill Amberg Selvage Tug we hope to give a little glimpse of how it all works – and how much fun it is!

We liked their bags so much that we’ve decide to carry on producing them and they will be available for sale in our stores and online.

10% of each bag sold will go to Molly’s Fund part of The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery Development Foundation (for further information please call 020 7829 8724)
