Aberlour Medicine Bags

Aberlour is an award-winning distillery of Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, owned by French drinks company Pernod Ricard. The distillery approached us to develop a set of cases for brand ambassadors to hold and transport the accessories necessary for whisky presentations.

The Medicine Bag is a beautiful open-top case originally designed by Bill in 1999, as a modern take on the classic doctor’s bag. Entirely handmade in England by our workshop, it provided the ideal structure for holding the tasting notes, colour references, bottles and glasses to be used in Aberlour’s events.

The client selected a vegetable-tanned shoulder in a rich papaya tone for the exterior, and our team stripped back the Medicine Bag’s classic internal pocketing. Via several rounds of development, the internal suede partitioning was designed from scratch to securely hold the various shapes and sizes of bottles, vials and decanters. Padded and tack-stitched by our team, the dual compartments perfectly slotted into the interior of the case.
