Helm x Bill Amberg Studio - Rhode Island Commission

Helm and Bill Amberg Studio are proud to announce the third in their limited series of 20 Jaguar E-type Series 1 launches: The Rhode Island Commission.

So named because it is destined for a US client in New England, the new E-type will be entered into the famous Newport Concours, showcasing Helm and Bill Amberg Studio’s exquisite craftsmanship and engineering prowess to a knowledgeable Stateside audience.

Bill Amberg Studio worked with Helm to produce sumptuous bespoke semi-aniline calf suede leather interiors – this time in a rich ochre to contrast with and complement the emerald green exterior coating and the hand-crafted/bespoke aluminium panelling used throughout the interior trim. The Rhode Island Commission comes complete with a luggage set of two matching trademark Bill Amberg Rocket bags and two Weekender bags, held neatly in place with handmade leather straps.

Helm’s ongoing collaboration with Amberg – a classic car enthusiast himself – has been a developing and fruitful partnership. Both share an ethos and understanding of what represents the best of British craftsmanship, design and engineering. The two brands pride themselves in combining luxury with understatement, the classic with the modern, and always focusing on the finer details through the dedication, care and skill of their team.

Helm aims to preserve the art of the E-type for the next generation while elevating the driving experience and building to the pinnacle of contemporary luxury. In the 60 years since Malcolm Sayer’s design first wowed the automotive world, huge improvements in technology and techniques mean that his original vision for the E-type can now be fully realised. This is the E-type as it always should have been.
