Private residence, Westbourne Park

For this elegant residential project, we were asked to create a set of dining room benches for a client in west London.

The leather selected is a re-tanned calf leather, which has the firmness and fibre structure of a vegetable-tanned leather, but with the spring and resilience of a chrome-tanned upholstery hide. The result is a material that is sufficiently hard-wearing for everyday use, and yet retains the leather’s natural character and grain.

The seat and backrest are mounted on oak joinery, with the bench panels stitched together using a natural fawn thread, which references the colour of the wood.
