The Old Vic Theatre

Working with interior designer Rebecca Richwhite, we were asked to contribute leatherwork to the transformation of the iconic venue. The project aim was to create a more welcoming environment for patrons and in modernising, help to safeguard the long-term future of the theatre.

The grand Lobby Bar is enhanced with an oversized arched mirror, referencing the original west elevation of arches designed by The Old Vic’s architect, Rudolphe Cabanel. The bar front has been clad on site by our team in a rich vegetable-tanned leather, with plain butted detailing.

Elsewhere, in the downstairs Penny Bar, we completed bar stools and a set of deep-fill cushions with a pronounced seam in a natural upholstery leather, chosen to complement the deep red coloured flooring.
