The Painted Hall
Renowned for housing one of the largest ceiling paintings in Northern Europe, dating back to 1707, we were asked to create banquette seating and interior leatherwork for the reception area of The Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.
The major National Lottery-funded preservation initiative, was guided by Hugh Broughton Architects, and completed over the course of three years.
Designed in collaboration with the architect, five sets of high-backed fluted banquettes were created using a semi-aniline dyed upholstery leather with perforation detailing to the back panels. Pull handles and other architectural hardware were clad in the same material.
