The Rocket Bag
The Rocket Bag is a Bill Amberg icon. Originally developed in 1990, it has become a classic of both design and leathercraft, entering the V&A Museum’s permanent archive in 2001, as well as the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The piece is Bill’s modern interpretation of a traditional briefcase design, with smooth, fluid curves inspired by the classic rocket silhouette. Its aesthetic impact is enhanced by the ancient-meets-modern material contrast between traditional bridle leather and gleaming polished aluminium.
Reimagined
In Bill Amberg’s update on the classic Rocket Bag the exterior shell remains true to the original and is available in a range of premium-grade Italian leather options and a choice of matte black or classic silver handle. The interior can now be adapted to suit an individual’s requirements and lifestyle with a choice of tactile goat suede or lamb leather linings, refined personalisation options, and five carefully considered pocket configurations. There is plenty of space for a laptop which is protected by a padded base. The Rocket’s multifunctional interior has been updated to meet the needs of modern life.
