An introduction (part 1 of 2)
In line with London Design Festival 2018 and after three years of development, we’re so excited to be introducing a ground-breaking new leather product to the global interiors market.
Collaborating with leading British designers Tom Dixon, Faye Toogood and Timorous Beasties, alongside US-based Alexandra Champalimaud and Natasha Baradaran, Bill Amberg Print will offer the finest leather hides to the market, digitally printed with graphics developed by each of these renowned creatives, for use in commercial, hospitality, residential and marine projects.
With over 30 years in the leather industry, Bill’s broad and in-depth knowledge of this material positions him uniquely to oversee creation of the world’s most coveted upholstery leathers.
Working with only superior quality European bull hides, the specialist digital printing technology has been refined over the course of 36 months to give a much finer dye penetration to the skin. The 5 sqm hides are then finished with a durable dressing that retains the grain and handle of the material.
Combining the natural character of the leather, with a colourfast and robust printed design, the product has utility that stretches beyond its traditional upholstery functions, to bespoke furniture and a wide range of interior architectural uses.
“The wonderful alchemy of some of the world’s most prestigious designers combined with a printed leather that for the first time brilliantly illustrates the natural characteristics of the material I love, is something I’m so excited to share”, says Bill. “The quality is something that should be seen and touched to be fully appreciated.”
The inaugural range of Bill Amberg Print designs will launch from 15 September in London’s Kings Cross, and will be available to purchase via our website and selected trade partners.
